Lawnscaping Challenge #120

Hello fellow crafters. Sad to say that this is the last Lawnscaping Challenge that I will be a part of as the Facebook Inspiration Team.

Thanks for those who are always coming by and supporting. But I'm sure, this won't be the last time I will be using Lawn Fawn products! So hope you'll stay tune to my new adventures in 2016.

Today, I'm sharing with you a card I made for a new lawnscaping challenge. The theme is, of course, Christmas. I went for a slightly non-traditional route. I took little images and bunch them all at the bottom and did a quick wash of green. It's that simple!

I hope you liked it and join in the challenge to stand a chance to win a prize sponsored by Lawn Fawn.

Lawnscaping Challenge #119

Hello fellow crafters. Thanks for popping by my site. Today, I'm sharing with you a card I made for a new lawnscaping challenge. The theme is Tags. Make a bunch of tags or add one to your card.

I started out by using the Stitched Circle Dies to cut out a small one and a patterned paper from the Let's Polka paper pack. I just used the Oh Snap set to create the center.

Lawnscaping Challenge #118

Hello fellow crafters. Thanks for popping by my site. Today, I'm sharing with you a card I made for a new lawnscaping challenge. The theme is In With The Old.

I was quite surprised as too how hard it was for me to decide what older things to use for the challenge. The most obviously is to pull out my old stamp sets from Lawn Fawn but if you know me, my old sets aren't old to me as I usually still use them and not consider them as old. So I thought, I use something that I used to like to put on my projects many many years ago. FELT.

I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journal Die to cut the shape and a base for my felt.

I've marked down the spacing for each felt so that I can use all the colours I want without it being so out of balanced.

Just stick those felt down and trim the extra bits :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #117

Hello fellow crafters. Thanks for popping by my site. Today, I'm sharing with you a card I made for a new lawnscaping challenge. The theme is of course, Halloween.

I'm not very used to making a Halloween theme cards because I don't use it and I don't send any Halloween cards to anyone. But I do have a stamp set from Lawn Fawn called Monster Mash because it has adorable monsters and I use it even for non-Halloween cards.

I basically did a one colour watercolouring for each monsters using Distress Markers. I love adding stickles to them because it adds a little more cuteness and sparkle to them.

Lawnscaping Challenge #115

Hello fellow crafters. Thanks for popping by my site. Today, I'm sharing with you a card I made for a new lawnscaping challenge. The theme is Sentiments.

With all the awesome sentiments with cute fonts around, we sometimes forget to let them be the center of the show. But this challenge is a great change to do it. No images, no colouring, just sentiments :) I picked two stamps from the Winter Gifts set. I used versamark ink to stamp on to the green paper first. Using this ink creates a tone-on-tone look. You could heat embossed it with clear embossing powder for it to stand out more or make it glossy but I wanted to keep it soft.

Added the red circle and some gold stickles to keep the colour scheme very Christmas-like. I hope you'll try this sentiment background look for your cards too!

Lawnscaping Challenge - 2 Stamps, 2 Looks

Hi everyone! I actually made a video for these cards but my imovie was being weird :( Hopefully it'll work next time, so I hope you'll look out for my post next month!

I would like to share two very simple cards using only 2 stamps but producing two very different looks! The lights and sentiments are from the Baaaah Humbug stamp set.

For the first card, I wanted to keep it one layer and bright and colourful. I just took the lights and start to stamp them next to each other. Colouring the bulbs with copics and adding some gold stickles for some shimmer.

The next one is more night time look.  I used Black Soot & Faded Jeans for the night sky look. Instead of colouring the bulbs, I just embossed it with Hero Arts white embossing powder and used Pretty Pink Posh sequins for embellishments.

I hope it will inspire you to find more looks for your stamps! Cheers!

Lawnscaping Challenge #114

Hello fellow crafters. Thanks for popping by my site. Today, I'm sharing with you a card I made for a new lawnscaping challenge. The theme is One Layer.

I have to apologise that this card turned out to not be a one layer :( I've made it one layer at first. The background is one layer. I've divided the two sides with the old ol' masking tape. The balloons & the sentiment are from the Party Animal stamp set.

So, I left the card on the table and I went away. It was a bad cloudy day and I don't have a great camera to take a good picture without great natural light. I went away and when I got back, stuff had fallen on the card and ruin the area where the sentiment was. I love the card & I didn't want to waste my materials so I had to cover it with a strip of paper :( I hope you'll forgive me.

Lawnscaping Challenge #113

Hello fellow crafters. Thanks for popping by my site. Today, I'm sharing with you a card I made for a new lawnscaping challenge. The theme is Texture.

I love this theme because it's giving me a chance to dig out my texture paste! :) To add colour to the paste, I used some Distress Inks (Barn Door & Picked Raspberry). I used a stencil to make the background. The frames are from the Flirty Frames set, the rabbit is from the Snow Day set and for the sentiment, I cut a part from the Monster Mash set.

I hope you liked it and join in the challenge to stand a chance to win a prize sponsored by my favourite craft store, Ellen Hutson.

Lawnscaping Challenge Blog Hop - sponsored by The Ink Road

Yay! It's the Lawnscaping Challenge Facebook Team Blog Hop again.

Our sponsor is  :  The Ink Road.  Yay!

A small introduction to The Ink Road,

The Ink Road is an adorable shop run by the fabulous Lara Smith.  Her store is filled with all kinds of adorable crafty goodies from stamps (she carries our beloved Lawn Fawn) to dies to supplies to journals and planners! If she doesn't have it, she can get it.

She also price matches... . AND YES, she ships internationally. When you receive your order, you will smile because the packaging is absolutely adorable! Each order is filled from the creative heart! Be sure to check her out at her shop and her blog.

The winner of this hop will win a $25 gift certificate. How great is that!

For this month, we are using the colour : Yellow!

Instead of making a bright yellow card which I initially planned, I've decided to go a muted direction. I took two similar flowers from Penelope's Blossom set and I first stamped it with white ink. This is because when I can stamp it again with another colour and it would show through. I could still do it without the white ink but it would appear much darker and you probably won't be able to see the true colour of the ink.

The winner will be chosen at random from the comments from any of the hopper's blogs so be sure to comment on everyones posts and be inspired :) You will have until midnight Sunday EST to comment to be eligible for the $25 Gift Certificate from The Ink Road..

Lawnscaping Challenge #112

Hello fellow crafters. Thanks for popping by my site. Today, I'm sharing with you a card I made for a new lawnscaping challenge. The theme is Embossing.

There are so many things you can do with this theme. Dry or heat. Whichever way you choose, you can get gorgeous results. I chose to heat emboss because having some watercolour effect in combination with embossed images is my favourite combination. I've taken small images from the Party Animal stamp set and randomly stamped them to create a background. Trust me, you can use any images and it would still work.

Smooshing the background into puddles of Distress Inks to make an organic looking background.

For this month, we are using the colour : Deep Red

I know how overpowering red can be. That's why I've decided to create a mask and only have the big bold red at the corner. I love how sharp clean lines the masking does. The rest are just about copic coluring.I used the stamps from Beep Boop & Party Animal

Lawnscaping - Let's Party!

Hi everyone! I'm sure this technique isn't new to everyone but I would still like to share this card and share some tips I've learn and hopefully, it would benefits you.

You can use any light copic friendly ink. I use Distress Ink. Mainly because it's the only ink line that I have many colours of. I used the images from the Sweet Smiles set.

Tip 1 : I stamped the machine off to the side to create some kind of dimension even though everything is more or less one layer except for the sentiment. I really like doing this especially for one layer card.

Tip 2 : The great thing about no-line colouring is, you don't have to trouble yourself and create a mask. If you can see it in the image above, some of the balls overlaps. But because you will not see the line in the end result, this doesn't matter :)

I hope you like this card as much as I did :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #109

Hello fellow crafters. Thanks for popping by my site. Today, I'm sharing with you a card I made for a new lawnscaping challenge. The theme is Sparkle & Shine. You guessed it! Include some sequins or glossy accents or in my case, gold stickles!

I looooooooove these circles from the Sweet Smile set because you make use it in so many ways. Today I wanted to make a bright and cheerful card. The sentiment is from the Party animal set.

For this month, we are using the colour : Purple!

I knew I wanted to do a custom background but I didn't have enough purple ink pad to make a purple background so I decided to do some die-cutting with the purple cardstock leftovers I have lying around. I used the Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday Border. I must admit that it took a while to add the liquid glue on the die but if you one those sticky back paper, it would go faster.

I topped it off with a simple sentiment from the Penelope's Blossom sets and went stickles crazy :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #108

Hello fellow crafters. Thanks for popping by my site. Today, I'm sharing with you a card I made for a new lawnscaping challenge. The theme is Stars & Stripes.

I wanted to use both stars & stripes but I really felt like colouring some flowers so I chose to only have stripes on my green card :)

I used the flowers from the Flutter By set and watercoloured the leaves and flowers. Instead of black ink, I've decided to use gold embossing powder to give a touch of softness to the flowers.

Lawnscaping Challenge #106

Hello fellow crafters. Thanks for popping by my site. Today, I'm sharing with you a card I made for a new lawnscaping challenge. The theme is Try a New Technique.

I have to be honest with you. I couldn't think of anything because of the stuff I'd like to do that is new is usually the product is new which doesn't qualify as a new technique. However, I was looking at my dies and I thought, I've never made a non-rectangular card so I thought I'd try a circle card. This is new territory for me because it wasn't a lot of space to work with.

I used the flowers from the Flutter By set & sentiment from the Winter Gifts set. Hope you like this card and try out a new shaped card :)

Lawnscaping Challenge #105

Hello fellow crafters. Thanks for popping by my site. Today, I'm sharing with you a card I made for a new lawnscaping challenge. The theme is Watercolour. Adding some kind of watercolouring is so popular right now and you can use lots of medium but today I used Distress Inks and stamps from Hello Sunshine by Lawn Fawn.
