Twelve Tags of Christmas with Loll & Friends

Hi everyone! I'm here to share with you a special Mixed Media Tag I've made for a special event by Loll Thompson. It's twelve days of various tags by different crafters every day. This is Day Nine.

The best part is that you can also win some prizes!

Winner - $40 gift certificate from STAMPlorations
Top Three - $20 gift certificate each from STAMPlorations
Random Draw - $20 gift certificate from Happy Little Stampers
Random Draw - One Christmas stamp set from Dee's Artsy Impressions

Head over to her blog for details and to see works by other crafts.

On to my tag :) This is my second time joining this event. Last year, I made a more obvious Christmas tag (with the tree and presents) but this year, I wanted to step outside out of the usual colour scheme.

The base of the tag was made from just a cardboard leftover from an old stack of patterned paper. I like keeping them as they are good bases for making tags as they are pretty thick and sturdy.

First, I used Hero Arts Basic Grey Prism Background stamp and heat embossed it on the background with Stampendous Sparkly Gold Embossing Powder. I used the Martha Stewart Texture Paste with snowflake stencil from the Create A Smile Stamp Snow Dance Kit just to have some raised little snow flakes on the left.

The chipboard houses are from Dusty Attic Main Street Border. I covered the houses with a layer of DecoArt Sand Texture before I painted them with acrylic paints from Kaisercraft. The Sand Texture paste are also used as "snow" on the houses.

To finish up, I had to use these sentiments from Paper Smooches Bitty Bungalows. It was just perfect with the houses in the background.

I hope you like my tag! Enjoy and don't forget to drop by Loll's blog for more.
