Made With Love - Cards & Inks

Hi everyone! I'm excited to show you some card I've made for the Made With Love Design Team. Made With Love is a craft store in Singapore. If you're living in Singapore, drop by the store! It's at a mall called Somerset 313. Today I will share three cards and all of them feature Distress Inks / Markers.

The first card is my favourite out of the three for today. I used Lawn Fawn - Flutter By stamp set & distress inks to colour it. To layer the flowers on top of each other without using any dimensional adhesive, I've used a post-it note to mask off some parts :)

The second card was inspired when my friends and I were talking about magic. I like to look at stamps and use them in more than one way. This hat was probably just to add on little accessories on your existing Lawn Fawn sets but I thought it'll be fun to turn it upside down and have stars coming out of it like magic! The stars are little die cuts from Lawn Fawn.

Last and final card for today, comes with a little tutorial on how you can achieve this mirror image stamping with any stamp you have.

First, you have, of course, choose the stamp image that you want to "mirror" then choose another stamp that is bigger than your choice of image. I used this house image. I stuck my house image to my block but the other way. Meaning, the flat side (the non-stamping) will be facing up. You can see it in the image below.

Next, I stamped my gnome on to the flat side of the flhouse stamp. You have to take note that it will feel "slippery" so do not press too hard.

And lastly, I stamp it on my paper and you will have a mirror image of your stamp.

OF course, it will not come out perfect. I used a black marker to make the lines as perfect as I can.

The last part of my blog is to share my thought on some black inks you can find in Made With Love. I will write them in point form as it's easier for you to refer in the future :) I have all of these black inks because I can use them for different usage.

Distress Ink ( Black Soot )
- It's not permanent on it's own. It will turn to "watercolour" when it's wet.
- It's great to use as a black watercolour ink.
- Not great for solid or sentiment stamping as it won't give you the crisp results.
-Does not stain your stamps
- It stays wet long enough for us to use as a base for embossing powder.

Staz On (Black)
- Permanent (stain your stamps but doesn't transfer)
- You can't use it for alcohol markers but you can use for watercolours
- Great for stamping any images & sentiments. It gives sharp results.

Ranger Archival Black Ink
- Permanent (stain your stamps but doesn't transfer)
- You can use it for alcohol markers or watercolours
- Great for stamping any images & sentiments. It gives sharp results.
- Recommend to use if you want ton stamp on acetate or other slick surfaces.

Memento Black Ink
- Permanent (may stain your stamps but doesn't transfer)
- You can use it for alcohol markers but not for watercolours. I find that it runs when I use it for watercoloring technique
- Great for stamping any images & sentiments. It gives sharp results.

Versa fine Black
- Permanent (may stain your stamps but doesn't transfer)
- I only keep this ink for my sentiment or detailed images as it gives the best and sharpest results.
- It stays wet long enough for us to use as a base for embossing powder.

Hope these are helpful!

  1. love the cards! You are so talented. But under Staz On you mentioned that you can use it with alcohol markers and you can't, the markers will run and mess up your picture
